When I was little, I used to have every craft set you could imagine. Sand art was my jam. I was obsessed with art in school and taking art classes at the local museum. I can’t say I had much talent, but I loved sparking my creative side. As I’ve grown older, I feel like my artsy flow is at an all time low. I think it’s because when you are a kid, you don’t care if whatever you are creating looks like a piece of poop. But as you grow up, you expect it to turn out looking like a masterpiece and unfortunately it usually doesn’t.
This leads to Prompt #3 of the Self Love Series – Spark Your Creativity
Do you scroll through Pinterest for hours pinning DIY projects that you never actually get around to doing? ..That’s pretty much my life. BUT, I recently went to an incredible place called Pinspiration here in Phoenix. If you live in AZ, you’ve got to go here! You walk into this art studio full of inspiration. There are over 50 different projects that you can choose from and they supply the directions and the materials. From string art, to pallet art, to decorating pottery and even a splatter art Jackson Pollock room, you have SO many options to choose from. You indulge in some drinks and a snack plate from the bar and bam, start to create! Can you think of a more perfect place to go for a ladies night or kids birthday party?! They also offer workshops, so I’ve definitely got my eye on a calligraphy class. That’s my next hobby to tackle!
But since we aren’t all so lucky to have a place with Pinterest projects at our fingertips, my advice to you is to find a project this week that will spark your creativity. After making this Arizona string art, attending a wood burning workshop, and coloring in my city scape adult coloring book, my creative juices are at an all time high and I feel so at ease. I want YOU to feel the same. What project are you going to work on for prompt 3 of the Self Love Series?
